About Me

My Background

Once a Teacher, Always a teacher

Believe it or not, for most of my adult life (almost 20 years in fact), I was a high school English teacher. I loved working with teenagers on their soul journeys as they explored who they were or wanted to be. I still miss that part of teaching very much. Becoming an Energy Medicine practitioner and Sound Healer was definitely not on my radar; I thought I would be a high school teacher until the day I died–until teaching nearly did kill me, both mentally and physically. The constant cycles of stress inherent to the profession and our contemporary societal expectations left me unwell on many levels, so I began the work of healing.

The Universe has a funny way of gently nudging us in different directions when it’s time to grow and evolve, and I decided to follow that nudge. I felt compelled to make choices to further my healing, which included changing my career to something that aligned with my personal health and wellness philosophy and learning more about the healing arts.

As part of that journey, I explored and studied several modalities including meditation, tapping, breathwork, EEM, color therapy, and various sound and vibrational therapies, among many other things. I am now certified as an Eden Energy Medicine practitioner and a Level 2 Sound and Vibrational Healer through Meditate: School of Sound Healing. Most recently, I completed my certification in Biofield Tuning and am excited that I am now able to offer that unique modality to my clients as well.

Sound healing and energy work have had a profound impact on my health and wellness. I feel a strong desire to help others by sharing with them what I’ve learned from my own journey and to help them experience the healing potential of these modalities. Funny enough, I guess I still see myself as a teacher, just a different kind, and in a much-less traditional way.

I look forward to exploring sound and energy together.

My Story

For some of you, this might sound familiar.

Though we each experience life and its challenges through our own unique lens, I have noticed that many of us who have found our way to this alternative medicine healing space share similar stories about how we ended up here. There is power and wisdom in the collective experience; it is comforting to know that others have been where you are and have found their way to wisdom and wellness. It gives us hope that we can do the same.

Like many of you, my health journey began with a series of small, frustrating health issues that escalated into more troubling symptoms that began to significantly impact my life. Initially I went to many allopathic practitioners and specialists, but I wasn’t finding any real answers or insight regarding what was going on with my body, nor was I finding sustained relief from my symptoms. I was in a stressful job and stuck in unhealthy mental and energetic patterns, but I wasn’t yet able to connect those factors to what was going on with my body. I was in my late twenties–in what should have been the physical prime of my life–yet I felt unwell, frustrated, and betrayed by my own body. Truthfully, there were times I felt nearly hopeless that I would ever feel like myself again. In spite of this, though, I always had this innate belief that a higher quality of life and wellness was possible if I could just tap into my body’s wisdom somehow.

In search of that wisdom, I jumped down the rabbit hole of alternative medicine. I was pretty close to rock bottom, so I figured that I didn’t have much to lose. I explored numerous healing modalities, and many of them did yield some positive effects, or at least helped me to better understand my body, energy, emotional wounding, and healing potential.

Not everything resonated with me, of course, but the things that did, like Eden Energy Medicine, tapping, and sound healing therapies, became part of a lifestyle shift and are now a regular part of how I exist and interact with the world. These practices helped me to come back into my body and to begin creating more space for energy move and flow through my body the way it is supposed to, which allowed my body to truly begin healing. Many of the techniques were things that I could do on my own; I felt empowered by the concept of being an active part of shifting energy in my own body. I do love having a practitioner work with my energy, but there is something very liberating and healing about being able to independently work with your own energy systems to bring greater balance to your body, mind, and spirit.

I am so grateful that I found my way to energy and sound medicine. There is no panacea for wellness–no magic pill that will solve all health problems–but there are effective and powerful subtle energy techniques that can help you to experience a higher quality of life and wellness. I have experienced this for myself, and I look forward to sharing what I’ve learned with you.
